The Municipal Government of Acapulco, led by Mayor Abelina López Rodríguez, through the Acapulco Tourism Secretariat headed by Noé Peralta Herrera, participated this morning in the official presentation of the 2026 FootGolf World Championship, an international tournament that brings together more than 1,200 participants from 60 countries and 50 federations in the port city. This major sporting event places Acapulco on the global sports stage and reaffirms the international community’s confidence in the destination’s ability to host world-class competitions.
International Leaders Recognize Acapulco as a Host for Major Events
During the presentation, recognition was given to the trust and support of the President of the International FootGolf Federation, Aleksander Kravanja, as well as the President of the Mexican FootGolf Federation, Fernando Name, for selecting Acapulco as the host city for this prestigious sporting event. The commitment and dedication of the delegations, participants, and accompanying guests who traveled from around the world to take part in the 2026 FootGolf World Championship were also acknowledged, with all being welcomed by the warmth, hospitality, and friendliness that characterize Acapulco.
Tourism, Sports, and International Promotion Shine a Spotlight on Acapulco
The Municipal Government also expressed its appreciation to the organizing committee and all those who made this major event possible, including Héctor José Ruiz, Director of Golf Courses at Mundo Imperial; Arturo Villaseñor Ramírez, General Director of Grupo Tres Vidas Acapulco; and Gerardo Jean Carrasco, Televisa Central Region Representative, for joining efforts to deliver a championship of international significance.
