Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico – June 7, 2026 – The fifth edition of the FIFG FootGolf World Championship concluded successfully after ten days of world-class competition. The Individual Championship was held from May 27 to June 1, followed by the Team Championship from June 2 to June 7, with the renowned courses of Tres Vidas Acapulco and Turtle Dunes at Mundo Imperial serving as the official venues for the Mexico Acapulco 2026 FootGolf World Championship Cathoras presented by Izzi.
More than 1,200 players from over 60 countries participated throughout the championship, filling both courses from sunrise to sunset with tee times beginning at 7:00 a.m. daily. The event also featured a Celebrity Tournament, organized to support CRIT, adding a charitable component to an unforgettable week of FootGolf.
Among all participating nations, France and Argentina emerged as the dominant forces of the championship, excelling in both individual and team competition.
OPENING CEREMONY
The Opening Ceremony was attended by Acapulco Mayor Abelina López Rodríguez; Aleksander Kravanja, President of the International FootGolf Federation (FIFG); Fernando Name, Director General of the Mexican FootGolf Federation (FMFG); Guerrero Tourism Secretary Simón Quiñones Orozco; Acapulco Tourism Secretary Noé Peralta Herrera; and Héctor José Ruiz, Director of Golf Operations at Mundo Imperial.
During the ceremony, FIFG President Aleksander Kravanja recognized the efforts of the federations, organizers, and volunteers who made the championship possible, while also highlighting the commitment shown by the players and host city. He emphasized that the tournament reflected Acapulco’s ability to successfully host sporting events of global significance.
The championship welcomed 130 players from North America, 130 from South America, 604 from Europe, 130 from Asia, and 46 from Africa, competing across the Men’s, Women’s, Senior, and Senior Plus divisions.
INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Following four rounds of intense competition across both championship courses, the world’s best FootGolf players battled for individual glory.

The Mexico Acapulco 2026 FootGolf World Championship concluded with championship matches in the Men’s, Women’s, and Senior divisions, while additional placement matches determined the final rankings across all categories.

France once again demonstrated its dominance in the team format, securing a historic third consecutive world title with an impressive victory over Slovakia in the final.
