FootGolf in Mexico has its origins in 2005 under the name of Fut-Golf. On September 9, 2009, Francisco Name officially registered the trademark with the IMPI (Mexican Institute of Intellectual Property). In 2012, the Mexican FootGolf Federation (FMFG) was founded in the city of Monterrey, under the leadership of Francisco González, with the support of the American FootGolf League (AFGL). In June of the same year, Mexico formed its first national team and participated in the First World FootGolf Championship held in Hungary, an event in which the International FootGolf Federation (FIFG) was formed. Since then, Mexico as one of the founding countries, has participated in all FIFG FootGolf World Cups.
Official Recognition
Currently, Mexico has approximately 280 golf courses, of which more than 50 have hosted official FootGolf tournaments, which represents about 20% of the country's courses.
FootGolf in Mexico is officially recognized as a sport by the CODEME (Mexican Sports Confederation A.C.), and has the endorsement of the Mexican Football Federation A.C. (FMF), the Mexican Golf Federation A.C. (FMG) and the Mexican Federation of Fast Soccer and Siete A.C. It is currently in the process of being declared a national sport.

2012
Foundation of the Mexican FootGolf Federation and participation in the First World Cup in Hungary.
2016
Participation in the World Cup in Argentina. Beginning of the Mexican Circuit and foundation of the first National League.
2018
Participation in the World Cup in Morocco. The Mexican FootGolf Championship is born.
2021
Major in Cancun and first live televised tournament (Acapulco FIFG 500). The Super Cup is born.
2022
First fully televised Championship (9 dates). Alliance with Televisa.
2023
Participation in the World Cup in Orlando. Major in Cancun and tournaments broadcast by Televisa. Beginning of the process of joining CODEME.
2024
Official integration into CODEME. 7 national dates and two televised tournaments.
2025
First North American Cup in Los Cabos. Mexico confirmed as the host of the 2026 World Cup.
2026
FootGolf World Cup in Acapulco, produced by Televisa, with 36 hours of broadcasting. Mexican Championship with 5 dates.
